Michael Morpurgo’s novel was adapted for the stage by Nick Stafford and features iconic puppets by the Handspring Puppet Company. Praised for its set design, choreography and nominated for best new play at the 2008 Olivier Awards, War Horse continues to dazzles audiences around the world. So, if you want to see a theatre classic revived in a brand new performance space, you’ll want to book tickets for War Horse.
As you walk into the theatre, it’ll feel like you’re stepping back in time to World War One. Set at the outbreak of World War One, Albert’s horse Joey is shipped off to France to assist the British Army throughout the war. Distraught, Albert wants nothing more than to be with Joey, so sets off on a dangerous adventure to the front line to rescue the equine. Along the way, see Albert and Joey deep in battlefield trenches, with Albert sacrificing his life in order to reunite with Joey and bring him home.
